Pets - Ty Hir gite & self catering holiday home in Finistere, Brittany

No need to leave your best friend at home!
Pets are welcome to stay at our holiday cottage in Brittany along with their well behaved owners by prior arrangement. The property is surrounded by peaceful countryside with walks right on the door step, perfect for exercising your pooch!
Our gite is dog friendly as we understand that people often like to bring their best friend with them on holiday. We accept up to two dogs though can accommodate more outside of the high season. Please ask. We charge £20 for one dog and £30 for two dogs.
Brittany Ferries have a PETS Travel Scheme . The economy service to Le Harve offers 13 pet-friendly cabins. On the Pont Aven ferry there are kennels and on other services pets can travel in owners vehicles. Pets can also travel in vehicles on the EuroTunnel service.

In the interest of other guests, who may be allergic to animals, please observe the following:
- Keep animals off all furniture
- Do not permit pets to enter bedrooms
- Do not leave pets unattended
- Please be aware that there may be livestock near the property
- All animal mess should be cleaned up and disposed of - we provide lovely scented poop bags to do this!
- Pets should be treated for fleas and worms ahead of the visit

Please ensure that you remove all evidence of your pet from the gite and garden before leaving. If there is evidence of your pet found at the property at the end of your stay we reserve the right to make a cleaning charge of £40/€50 per house per stay.
Our closest vet is in Huelgoat: R.Jegou et R.Nachtergaele, Z.A. du Vieux Tronc, 02 98 99 71 47, Open: Mon-Sat 08:30-1330 - 24 hour emergency service available. There are also vets local to us in Carhaix-Plouguer and Plonévez-du-Faou.

Please note that part of the boundary of our property is formed by a hedge. There is a gate at the entrance to the Ty Hir and additional fencing to enclose the garden. We are on a very quiet dead end road. We accept no responsibility for the safety and security of your animal whilst on our premises. There is often livestock in surrounding fields. You are responsible for keeping your pet under control at all times.

We support the
Rescue Remedies Dog Rescue
charity which is based in London and the South East of England. It is run by a small team of dedicated volunteers and all donations go towards kennel and vet fees. None of the volunteers are paid or claim expenses.
This photo shows the lovely Nathan at a Rescue Remedies fundraising event. We enjoyed fostering him at weekends for nine months and he recently found his forever home much to our delight.
